Hosting with love is our mission. We are a couple with a beautiful cultural blend: Angelo, born in Taormina, Sicily, and Tatiana, born in São Paulo, Brazil. We blend both the hospitable Sicilian and passionate Brazilian essences with joy and enthusiasm for hospitality with love, offering our guests a special and welcoming experience.
THE HOUSE OF ANGELINA – Hospitality with love was born to honor an exceptional mother, wife, woman, grandmother, friend, and mother-in-law who, with her love and kindness, has always welcomed and helped various people.
Living hospitality is an expression of love because it connects us and reminds us of the Bible quote Hebrews 13:2, “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
Our guests say that we are very friendly, welcoming, kind, and helpful. Our goal is to create beautiful memories and special moments in complete tranquillity and well-being. We offer all the support necessary for a wonderful vacation full of discoveries and wonders about the culture, Mediterranean cuisine, history, nature, and the beauties of the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, Taormina, along with other Sicilian traditions.
With immense gratitude, we thank all our guests for their testimonials about their experiences during these nearly 2 years at “THE HOUSE OF ANGELINA.” This allows us to be a part of their memories, enabling us to continue learning and improving our services. “Love and touch have memory, and that is what matters most!”
Angelina Santisi was a young woman of strong and kind character, deeply religious, highly determined, and visionary beyond her time. One of her hobbies was her passion for fabrics, sewing, knitting, and crocheting because she loved making sweaters, children’s clothing, and thoughtful gifts for everyone. Angelina studied tourism and, at a young age, worked for many years in a clothing store, where she was praised for her accomplishments. In addition to her hard work for many years, she always devoted herself to her family, her three grandchildren, and her parents.
In 1958, Angelina met her husband, Antonino Saglimbeni, and they got married on February 14, 1963. In 1966, their firstborn, Maria Antonietta, was born, and five years later, the second child, Angelo, arrived. Her son remained by her side for 50 years, being her best friend at every moment.
Around 1980, after many sacrifices alongside her husband, she dedicated herself to building their second home and began the strategy of renting their first home to pay off the construction debts. During that time, the subtle idea of a vacation home for tourists was born.
On June 28, 2006, Angelina became a widow and experienced immense pain when she lost her beloved husband, Antonino Saglimbeni, to cancer.
Unfortunately, at the age of 82 in November 2019, Angelina was diagnosed with senile dementia and early-onset Alzheimer’s. To ensure her all the love and full care she deserved, her dear son Angelo and daughter-in-law Tatiana, who were newlyweds at the time, expanded their love and dedicated this period of their lives to the complete care of the beautiful Angelina. They faced all the challenges and suffering of this heartbreaking disease that had afflicted her for three years.
Our beautiful Angelina was welcomed into heaven on November 25, 2021, leaving behind immense grief in everyone, especially in her family who loved her. She left precious lessons about the importance of unconditional love, lessons that no book or university can teach, because love and daily care will never be forgotten in the language of love.
To keep her always present and alive in our hearts, our memories, and for all the lessons learned during this painful period of illness, as a form of gratitude for a lifetime of sacrifices, Angelo and his wife, Tatiana, officially inaugurated THE HOUSE OF ANGELINA on June 1, 2022, with the mission of offering hospitality with love, respect, and acceptance, just as Angelina did for everyone, without any discrimination or prejudice.
THE HOUSE OF ANGELINA – Hospitality with love was born to honour an exceptional mother, wife, woman, grandmother, friend, and mother-in-law who, with her immense love and affection, has always welcomed and helped so many people.
THE HOUSE OF ANGELINA reinforces the importance of welcoming and unconditional love without any restriction based on race, colour, or nationality. The language of love is universal and recognized in any tongue.
Living hospitality is an expression of love because it leads us to acknowledge, as Hebrews 13:2 states, “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
We will never forget all the love received from ANGELINA, her cheerful ways, and the countless lessons and insights during all the stages of Alzheimer’s. But also, the countless moments filled with reciprocal love that will never be erased from our memory.
Our eternal Angelina will continue to live in our hearts and will always be remembered for all that she was and will continue to be for those who love her. We will love you forever, beautiful star ANGELINA.
